                 Dock fender installation method

The installation method of dock fender mainly includes the following steps:         

      Preparation stage: firstly, determine the model, quantity and position of the fender plates to be installed. 

Check whether the product is intact and meets the design requirements. 

Prepare the required tools and auxiliary materials, such as bolts, washers and other fasteners, as well as waterproof sealant or caulking material. 

Ensure that the work area is safe and free from obstacles and that there is a good working environment for the operator to carry out the work.                   

      Installation process: accurately mark the location line of each fender at the edge of the dock according to the design drawings. 

Place the fenders in their intended position and secure them with temporary supports to ensure stability. 

Drill the holes according to the pre-assembled templates using the appropriate drilling tools, and apply anti-corrosion treatment where necessary to prevent corrosion caused by prolonged flooding.

 Prefabricated connectors (usually angles) are welded to the quay structure to ensure the stability of the whole system. 

Finally, use high strength bolts to tighten all parts to form an overall stress system, and carry out quality checks and adjustments.

      Adjustment and completion of installation: Check whether the position of the fenders is accurate, adjust the height and angle of the fenders to keep a certain clearance with the quay wall and the hull of the ship. 

Tighten the bolts, washers and nuts of the fenders to ensure good fixing. Carry out quality inspection and adjustment of the whole system,

 including whether the indexes of levelness, verticality and centre distance meet the requirements, and make records for subsequent maintenance and overhaul.

      Precautions for the installation of dock fenders: During the installation process, attention needs to be paid to safety checks and tests to ensure that the quality and effect of the rubber fenders are in line with the requirements. 

Record the possible problems in the installation process and rectification, in order to improve the efficiency and quality of future installations.
